"Insights participants learn so much more experientially than they would in a traditional classroom at school. I can honestly say that my students learned more in one month in Ecuador than they would have in 2 years of Spanish class."

Introduction

Insights combines the best elements from international adventure programs, academic courses, immersion trips and community service to create five-week expeditions that will change the way you view the world. Inherent in our adventures are exploration, fun and friendships, but our ultimate goals are greater. Young adults ages 16-21 grow and learn through a progression of hands-on experiences and challenges, building skills they will use both in college and beyond. On each course students explore unusual environments and learn and apply an academic field of study while earning college credit.
Insights' unique program design is based on the belief that individuals learn the most when they are fully immersed in an educational experience and are pushed to expand their comfort levels. Every course is comprised of four sequential phases: a physically demanding adventure that builds the team and leadership skills, academic study through hands-on experiential learning, a weeklong community project intended to deepen cultural understanding, and a final wilderness experience to maximize reflection and transference. Each phase provides the foundation for the next, allowing the participants to gain the most out of this intensive learning quest. Small groups of just 10-12 participants permit flexibility and promote an ideal group dynamic.
